As a belated entry of yesterday’s New Music Friday , today I present Addie Hamilton‘s first 2021single, Tangerine. The first time I listened to Hamilton’s voice in this track I felt as though I had an ethereal encounter; her sound was so unbelievably sweet and beautiful, and her retro sound combined with this certain modern vibe on it is makes me reminisce those moments of my childhood where I listened to my mother’s favorites tracks.
Tangerine is a solid piece from beginning to the end, immediately grabbing my attention with the very first guitar chords and holding it all throughout the marvelous chorus and verses until the very end. This artist succeeds in making this track grow on the listener and makes you fall in love with her song and voice, especially so with the optimistic feeling the song has.
About the track Addie share this: “I wanted abstract lyrics so that the listener could connect their own meaning to them. For me, Tangerine is a reminder to focus on the beauty in life. To believe that miracles can happen. To keep faith when the world around you says otherwise. As if you are living in a black and white film and you are the only one who sees the red, blue, tangerine”
