The album has met some unfortunate delays, but luckily for all of us this release is here to comfort us during the wait and to give us a taste of what seems to be a bright, elegant but relaxed album.

“Magdalene” is the musical equivalent of a sunny day spent next to a loved one as well as the bittersweet feeling of wishing the day could last just a little bit longer. The indie rock song has some subtle winks to country and electric folk that add an even more joyful and poppy feeling to it. While listening to the song one can fly away to a peaceful daydream and picture themselves lying under the sun.

Jane Allison’s eloquent and poetic lyrics tell a story of love and affection, highlighted by the line “Like Magdalene, I’m the queen of love” mentioned during the chorus. Like petals to a flower, they add another layer of enchantment and let the listener obtain a deeper appreciation to the song and Allison’s talent.
