Fancy a bit of deeply romantic and ethereal?
What begins like the curtain raising on the soundtrack (if there was one) to “The Raven” by Edgar Allen Poe, sumptuously slides into a dreamlike sonic landscape with a voice that seeps in and you hope is in no hurry to leave. The tip-toe bass line and melancholic keyboards perfectly complement the transcendent vocals of Bunny Monroe. Not entirely sure if this tune signals the beginning of a love affair or it’s demise “for eternity…” You decide…
I can’t seem to make an honest comparison here to other artists or work, maybe for the more discerning listener you could hear Natasha Khan (Bat for Lashes) or perhaps Karen Carpenter, either way, it would be a shame to miss out. The only box that Monroe Moon fit into is their own!
And whatever it is, I know I want more.
