Soulful, majestic and raw, FireBug’s new single, “Run” feels like an ode to freedom and piece of mind. Influenced by many legendary classic rock bands like Led Zeppelin, Jimmy Hendrix, Cream and Summer of Love, this modern rock band from Chicago blends their folk/ blues influence with a desert rock sound and a hint of New Orleans.

Chicago natives Juliette Tworsey and Jules Shapiro met each other thanks to a mutual friend who thought they had similar musical influences and taste, and that they should get together and make music. Destiny and life always finds a way, and so this duo began to record music of their own once they moved out to L.A., where they recorded their first full length album on Spectra Records: “Wandering Soul”.
Now they’ve found home in Joshua Tree, California and settled themselves at famous Rancho de La Luna to record and mix their latest release, with production by the masterly hand of Chris Goss (Queens of The Stone Age). A song about finding a way out of a difficult situation where world events often seem out of your control.

The song feels flawless from start to finish, with clear influences of legendary performer Janis Joplin and prolific soul singers Aretha Franklin and Nina Simone. It has a special The Velvet Underground’s dusty vibe blend with a modern day production. The song feels like a warming embrace and a sweet breeze that welcomes you home.
Juliette Tworsey delivers the sweetest of vocals and rhythm guitar while Jules Shapiro plays the mellow lead and acoustic guitars and hammond organ, both supported by Joseph Noval on bass and Matt Lucich on drums. Their most notable gig was at the Sonisphere Festival in Knebworth UK on the same bill with headliners Iggy and The Stooges and The Cult. Attendance was around 85,000 people. “It was mind blowing!“

We can see this talented spirits rising up the charts and feeling up our hearts in the days to come. So let your wandering soul follow their call and, as Juliette says: “Go where the river flows”.
