It’s good to have you back for another New Music Friday release! If you’ve been around our blog for a while, you might be familiar with Bones In Butter, a Serbian band that is now back with a new single!

Bones In Butter is a band recently formed in Belgrade; they were previously introduced on Less Than 1,000 Followers with the following article, “Littlewing“, so you might want to check that one out. Following up on Littlewing, we are happy to share their second single, “Sad Girl”.

This track opens with a slow-paced chord progression in the guitar, accompanying Milutin’s first few verses, before bursting into a colorful journey of light textures and retro vibes. There’s an energetic yet gentle flow going throughout the piece, seamless transitions between sections suddenly highlighting different elements: a slightly heavier sound during the bridges contrasting with the chorus lightness, or the varying timbric effects from the lead vocals on each section, for example.

“This song is a tongue-in-cheek nod to today’s concept of ideal female beauty. The lyrics are written by and courtesy of Angelo Viel, my former bandmate and old friend of mine.”

“Sad Girl” is another great song by Bones In Butter; the synergy between each of the band members really stands out on this track, as their performances are perfectly balanced in order to deliver all of the subtleties present here. This second single is part of their upcoming debut album “Songs For A Sane Society”, which will definitely be amazing as far as we can tell!
Don’t forget to support this project and to follow on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Soundcloud and Spotify. You can also check out their official website. If you enjoy their music and are able to provide monetary support, you can download their music on Bandcamp.
