Liverpool singer-songwriter Lee Ford makes a strong come back after debuting his first single in April 2021.
Just 3 months after Lee Ford made his debut with his well received single: “My Best Friend“, the artist returns with another single that continues to build the musician’s path. “Where It Begins” was inspired by the lockdown mentality and brings a positive message that focuses on better times that wait for us throughout the darker days.
“Where It Begins started out as an idea when I was in a band some time ago, the song ended up on the shelf and was never picked up, not until the lockdown boredom kicked in. I revisited the song, changed a few things around and started putting fresh ideas on it with having the full freedom to do what I wanted with it.” – Lee Ford
Lee Ford is influenced by artists such as Jake Bugg and Sam Fender, while drawing inspiration from renowned acts like Wolf Alice, Paul Simon, The La’s, Fontaines DC, Jamie Webster and The Coral. This mix of influences have helped Ford construct his own and raw sound. But what stands out more from Ford is his honest and real lyricism.
“My lyrics are from the heart, they’re honest lyrics that people can get behind, I’m not much to look at but my lyrics make up for that.” Lee Ford

He began his songwriting during the first lockdown last year, and to build his sound he reached out to 3 band members to join him live as soon as live music returns! His music has been defined as “Rousing, Raw, Relatable. Ticks all the boxes for future success” by Gigslutz.
“The music for the song is driven with a continuous riff that plays throughout the choruses to give it a massive boost to echo the high vocal melody, trying to show diversity in the music.” – Lee Ford
Having been a regular on BBC Introducing and playing at the EBGB’s, Lee plans to continue to release real-life songs easy to relate to, so we can expect an extensive upcoming catalog from this UK artist!
The single was recorded at the SAE institute with producer Jay Graugler and mastered by John Withnall whose previous works include Coldplay.
“Anyone who is listening to Lee Ford for the first time should expect honest relatable lyrics, they’re written with his heart on his sleeve and an obvious nod to local influences while creating his own raw sound.“
