An homage to John Carpenter. New single, “They Live!” is a “no-bullshit” approach to the post punk genre. Listen now!

Serbian post-punk musicians are back! After their previous releases “Little Wing” and “Sad Girl“, Bones In Butter returns once again with a new single, “They Live!“, a song by one of the band’s favorite sci-fi movies of the eighties: “They Live”.

Directed by John Carpenter, the movie presents the story of John Nada, a totally irrelevant individual that defeats an overwhelmingly superior and oppressive enemy who has enslaved mankind, and, thus, save humanity. I gotta watch that one!

“This track is a sarcastic nod to the movie “They Live” with the message to never stop fighting oppression.” – Bones In Butter

Finding influence from legendary bands like The Velvet Underground, Lou Reed, the Stranglers, Wire, Magazine, the Electric Light Orchestra, Wall Of Voodoo, Franco Battiato, Tuxedomoon, Joy Division, and Giant Sand, this six piece band has created a sound that feels unique and has a life of their own!

Milutin Krasevic (Vocals, synths, samples, music & lyrics), Stefan Acimovic (Guitars), Damjan Kapor (Bass), Marcelo Effori (Drums), and Marko Balabanovic (Backing vocals) all met via online at the time of the quarantine, creating the final line-up for this kick-ass band. Most of them are accomplished musicians with a lot of experience on touring, while only one of them, Milutin Krasevic, used to work in linguistics!

“They Live!” was inspired by an Eighties sci-fi movie of the same title, so with the song I am paying homage to John Carpenter, the director. I’ve been a huge fan of his work since day one.” – BIB

The song was recorded, mixed and mastered by Srdjan Popov at the HillRiver Studios in Belgrade and everybody mentioned above was involved in its production.
