Ever been sitting staring at a person themself or their profile on your device, analysing what they’re saying about themselves and wondering “Is that really who you are, or is everything you’ve said just a bunch of lies made to hook up with?” Those particular people, also known as catfish, are also the basis of the new energy-filled single by Jennifer Alvarado.
The American singer-songwriter takes on the heartbreak-distributing Casanova and unveils their true nature in the powerful sparking single “Catfish“. Combining the best of rock, folk and country, the song is a cheerful blast spiced up with cinematic elements, short pauses, bold guitar riffs and the melodious banjo. As a whole, “Catfish” sweeps the listeners (particularly the catfish) with its “Do Not mess with me” energy and provides a fun atmosphere to clear away heartbreak from those who’ve already fallen victim.
“Catfish” also announces the soon-to-be release of Jennifer’s new EP, the second installation of her “Songbird” series. The previous one, “Songbird: Part One” was about enduring, overcoming and healing from a toxic relationship. The new EP, remaining under the veil of mystery outside the solid kick of independence provided by “Catfish”, will see light sometime this coming winter.
