Theo Adler is a singer/songwriter from London with a unique taste and talent. Inspired by artists like Radiohead, Gorillaz, Jungle, and The Rolling Stones, Theo makes music that’s easily digestible, with a certain oddness that achieves to charms the listener.

His most recent single describes the sensation of being unable to articulate certain elements of your story to people you’ve encountered, and even if you manage to convey them, questioning the clarity of it. It is like a musicalized presentation of Theo, his inner thoughts, and everyday life.

The song was written at about 1am after a party I went to while travelling. I was thinking about how hard it would be for me to describe my life in London in its clarity – which got me thinking about how universal that is too. “

The track brings an upbeat pace with tight drums, shimmering keyboards, and quirky guitar licks. Altogether with a fat bass, the track fits together perfectly with a danceable rhythm and a feel-good attitude. Theo’s voice is low and personal, almost like a storyteller, opening up to the audience with cleverly written lyrics that achieve a beautiful junction of rhyme and cadence.

It was the first one we started recording at the Wool Hall Somerset, which has seen a load of musicians that inspired me. I hope to bring whoever sees this into my musical world as what’s next is something a little different.”

Recorded at the historic recording studio The Wool Hall Somerset, “I Am Not Who You Think I Am” forms part of his debut EP “Revealer” which was released on November 10th, 2023. The vulnerable single reminds me of artists like Beck and Modest Mouse and it is a delightful throwback to the music of that era. So, listen now!
