The Infinity Process Releases Killer New Melodic Metal Song: “Glitches”

Ohio’s The Infinity Process’s newest single, “Glitches”, brings an intense frenetic energy to their unique melodic metal sound. While I can hear elements of bands like Thrice, Muse, and Helmet in their music, I also don’t hear anything that sounds like all the other melodic metal out there.

From the start of the song with the tom rolls into the cymbal crash that followed by some thick melodic guitar riffage held together by some tight as fuck bass playing, I can feel the power in “Glitches” the brand-new song by The Infinity Process.

Then the verse kicks in and the singer is right out front pushing their vocals to successfully capture all the emotion of the lyrics which seem to focus on the hyper surveillance that occurs in our modern world and will only increase as AI continues to expand.

“We wrote “Glitches” after marathoning the show Westworld. The idea of our life being a simulation was fascinating to us and opened our minds to the rise of artificial intelligence in our own lives. We thought about how we are becoming owned and tracked every second by our cell phones, our social media pages, and how even the real things in life, can feel fake in the current climate.” The Infinity Process

I dig the heavier and more angry bridge with some pretty cool and spooky vocal effects helping to enhance the atmosphere of otherworldliness. This is especially true as it’s followed by some more ethereal and ambient sounds before kicking back into the chorus.

Totally fucking love the ending with its staccato beat that just ends and leaves you longing for more which is probably the best way a song can end.

There is some dope double bass drum throughout the song that I wish was a little more prominent in the mix but that’s probably because I’m a drummer.

To coincide with this theme, the video has a distinct Matrix feel to it (which I can say because I finally watched it this week–yes, I’m 48 and despite loving sci-fi somehow never saw the Matrix until recently).

“We wanted to shoot a video for this particular song because we felt it lent itself to a bigger production type of video that told a story, and we were all fans of Music Videos that we would see on TV that actually told a story rather than was just a bunch of people dancing by a pool. (Not that we don’t love dancing by pools)”. The Infinity Process

Make sure if you’re near Toledo to get out to Frankie’s on May 17th as they play their first show in almost a year with other killer bands: Black Moon Cult, The Movement, Before My Eyes, Wexford and Nefertiti!
