Week 04 2022 Hey, take me more time to catch up but it’s what it is don’t you think? Welcome to your Blog LT1KF my dear music lovers, here we’re with 9 handpicked albums/eps for you to enjoy, let’s take a look at this round of 9 Albums/EPs you should listen to, released all of them recently (remember that you always can take a look back at our previous week recommendations here).
1- Krys Blank Self-titled debut EP Is a Psychedelic trip amongst synth waves and electronic shores. Blending the analog with the digital this new upcoming artist delivers soft, dreamy vibes with a lot of groove. Fans of Tame Impala, stick around! You can keep reading our review here.
2.- Great Value Jesus Dissassociation Nation is written to be experienced together to get the full picture and over-arching narrative. Through 7 tracks at roughly 23 minutes long, it weaves together a journey that one goes through when experiencing the highs and lows of mental illness and a story of growth. Where you begin in the record is not where you end emotionally.
The journey of Disassociation Nation begins with “Something in the Way,” which features emotive vocals, introspective lyrics, and reverbed- as well as distorted guitars…you can keep reading our review here.
3.- Hipflask Virgins, Electric Dinosaur The EP takes everything about Hipflask Virgins that has made them such a beloved act — especially on the live circuit — and dials it up a notch. Guitarist/lead vocalist Jay LawsonPearce’s riffs are bigger and more infectious than before, his vocals more assertive, and his lyrics more refined. Drummer/backing vocalist Will Diment’s beats are heavier, groovier, and more diverse. From start to finish, Electric Dinosaur is soaked in grit and sleaze as thick and heavy as the distorted fuzz on the band’s signature riffs.
4- Rough Grind Hardened You have to be tough to survive in this cold, cynical world. But real toughness isn’t all that easy to find – the courage to show a softer side of yourself, the guts to go your own way instead of following others, the willpower to get back up when you’re knocked down. All those things are what Rough Grind’s new album “Hardened” is all about.
This album is another heavy-duty offering from the Finnish metal rockin’ steam engine that is Rough Grind, taking listeners on a 7-song journey through electrifying soundscapes and some surprising sidetracks.
5.- Golden Plates Self-titled EP in his own words: “One guy and his deformed clones he made in his bathtub out of stolen stem cells and LSD made a band called Golden Plates. Together they write songs about depression, mental illness and all forms of unrequited love, from parents, friends, lovers, siblings, you name it, they’ve abandoned us”.
6.- almost a.m. Dim the Night almost a.m. is an indie-rock, alt-pop band who all share the same last name, with a cousin and two brothers, located in Kalispell, Montana. They have grown up together as best friends and have always dreamt of throwing off the status-quo and chasing after music.
This is the band’s debut release, called Dim the Night, a 3 song EP. It has a common theme of weight being lifted, being relieved of the pressures of life put on by oneself or others. The songs don’t shy away from being honest and talking about the things that go below the surface.
7- Nocturnal Issues Before The Debauchery is a 1 person band with everything recorded on ipad in bed room. With a follow up Album releasing on the 14th of February to complete the Debauchery Duology.
8.- Gilt Rip A Voice Of Your Own in their own words “Gilt Rip is a power trio founded in 2021 and based in Belgorod, Russia. Our music is for those whose taste is not dictated by modern media’s definition of styles and genres, for those who dream of far-away worlds and long for unexplored ideas.”
9.- Imogen Halsey Surrender “This EP includes Monday, Here To Stay and Surrender. They showcase me as an artist: a multi-instrumentalist with clear and passionate vocals alongside heartfelt and poetic lyrics. These songs are only the beginning, I am a hugely versatile artist with influences from dance, pop, classical and country/folk.”
