Hi, everyone, I hope you’re doing well and having a great weekend, and you’re right, this is your 9 Albums/EPs You Should Listen To Week 06, in case you haven’t checked the website the “Album Of The Week” belongs to “Robin Plays Chords” with “Unmasking” a 5 track album that you should not miss. remember that a great way to show your support to an artist is by buying their music, if you feel like it you can do it on his Bandcamp page, you’re only a few clicks away from doing it.
We did a Q&A/Interview with Robin,
“Unmasking, in an autistic context, is a little bit different. I think there’s a bit of a move to reframe the term at the moment, or even ease it out of parlance, but generally, it’s about blending into and slipping through the gates of so-called neurotypical society. Wearing a mask didn’t let me do that, and it didn’t give me any better insight of being myself. Unmasking now, and understanding who I really am, affords me a slightly better existence in my own skin.”

ALL ALBUMS/EPS SUBMITTED AND
DISCOVERED VIA MUSOSOUP
1.- Robin Plays Chords returns with a new 5-track album (not an EP despite having 5 tracks, due to a run time of nearly 40 minutes) titled, “Unmasking.” It is a manic, noise-rock-opera experience. You can read our review Q&A/Interview here.
2.- Moon and Aries “Break The Matrix (Episode Three)” Three electronica tracks infused with genres like House, Synth-Wave, Trip-Hop, and even Trance. Starting with “Illumination Society”, the EP immediately shows what it is all about. The beats are bouncy and spatial, vocals are lush with strong intent. The quality of each track is top-notch and will surely take you on a ride across space and time. You can read our review here.
3.- Madzen about “El Mestizo” “A four-track EP created as a way to celebrate my Latin heritage, and as a musical outlet to dance our sorrows away…” You can read our review here.
4.- Deleo “The Best Is Yet To Be” winds between ferocious guitar riffs, hypnotic basslines, and cosmic vocals. A blend of dark rock and dance-pop, blowing both cold and hot, between the hidden and bright side of the same moon floating in the stratosphere of indie rock, shoegazing, and new wave.
5.-Mishkin Fitzgerald & The Chemical Perils’ debut EP ‘Graces Cradle’ is a fiery and fierce fusion of contemporary genres including klezmer folk, punk, country, and gothic rock, all washed down with a surreal splash of theatrical Disney just to keep you on your toes.
In Mishkin own words: “Grace’s Cradle is the moment just before a fall, it’s a brief sense of being held. I feel like I’ve had a lot of upheavals in my life, especially spiritually and emotionally, and music is how I process that. I came from a very Christian background and walked away from it quite dramatically. This album is about discovering who you are after stepping away from your roots, and your security. It’s about embracing all of life’s challenges, the loss, the love, the funny bits, and the bitter-sweet moments. Essentially, It’s my journey of discovering who I am. I also wanted to express my less serious side through this album too so there’s also a bit of fun”.
6.- Georgia Hoareau debut EP “Wish Somebody Told“. The five self-penned tracks were independently recorded over an 18mth period & capture the same melancholic, coming-of-age lyrics & melodies we’ve come to enjoy from previous singles. Her incredible vocals & ‘heart on her sleeve’ songwriting delivers a level of musical maturity which belies her age.
7.- Bearbot “UntilWe Meet Again” After releasing 5 albums and touring the US and NYC’s biggest clubs as a solo act, Euna Kho teamed up with Ariana Moline to form Bearbot 2.0 – an electro-pop super singer producer duo that takes the hip-hop and pop flavor everyone loves and bakes it into an electronic eargasm.
The hypnotic interplay between Ari’s velvety vocals and Euna’s shimmering instrumentals defines Bearbot. The pair’s style developed from an exciting electronic groove to a more majestic, dreamy, and acoustic approach. Bearbot’s enchanting, mysterious music contains a wide range of sounds and textures, as well as elements of psychedelia and elegant electronics.
8.- Hauspoints “Bloody Interference” The band consist of Steven plays drums, Nik plays synths, Sam sings and plays guitar, Rob plays guitar and sings, Sam plays saxophone and synths.
9.- Secrete Mezzanine in their own words: “Chances are, you’ve been in quite a few houses. Field Guide to American Houses is us telling stories and ideas as if we’re talking to you in the breakfast nook, living room, foyer (you get the idea) of all the quaint middle american houses we’ve been in over the years. The album is thoughtful, and it taught us a lot while making it. We hope you glean something from it, and that you enjoy listening.”
You can also check out a pair of debut EPs the first one by Manners titled “Robbery” and the second “The Drunk Astronomer” with “Octopi“, enjoy the weekend and stay tuned. I’ll be back next weekend with more album for our enjoyment. Cheers!!!
