Arizona-based singer-songwriter and guitarist Brian Berggoetz brings forth a BRAND-NEW EP “Magical Times”. This folk-infused indie pop release dives into the sparks of magic that take place in interpersonal communication, and incidents in life that unite said people, and welcomes everyone come listen to those stories in heartwarming musical backdrop.
Brian Berggoetz, a self-taught guitarist and musician loving multiple genres, has been making his name known as an artist, who makes diverse and colorful music while keeping a warm-hearted, easily approachable sound. That, doubled with a knack for writing lyrics that bring honesty, affectionate and sincerity to table, makes for music that puts the room at ease whilst being captivating to listen to.
All that can be used to describe Brian’s newest release “Magical Times”. Made in collaboration with skilled artists from various places in the world, the EP carries lots of diversity within its list of 7 tracks from vibrant lively acoustic sound in the loveful “More Than You’ll Ever Know” to the hypnotizing, celestial atmosphere in “MLK”. The latter track as well as the cheery despite the dread tune “Folson Prison Blues” are co-sung by a charming vocalist Alison Wahl. A match made in heaven for sure, as you can hear when listening to said tracks.
To be honest, whole release manages to be hypnotizing in the sort of way similar to gazing at stars reflected in the loved person’s eyes. Emotions of grand scale like love, hope and excitement are joined by the minor-sounding ones to form soul-gazer music that’s bittersweet and truthful, love-infused, and affected by tragedy.
“Magical Times” is certainly a record that’s here to stay. A solid EP for anyone that loves indie pop and folk, and the embrace of relatable lyrics.
