Giack Bazz is a producer / musician and has an interesting upcoming single dropping 04-25-2024. I was not familiar with Giack’s work until covering this single, so there was some research to do. LT1KF has covered Giack previously with the songs “Funny Days” and “The Moon Is Painted.”
His songwriting style is something I really connect with. That “double ott” (2000’s) Indie sound. “Indie” as in the way the phrase was coined back in those days around a particular sounding genre. I get vibes from his music similar to things like Arctic Monkeys, The Shins to some extent, and Cage The Elephant, etc.
I was impressed by the songwriter’s diversity of sound within that space, considering our last piece of coverage being a beautifully worded song. The upcoming single by Giack Bazz is titled “Only Fans,” and of course just by title alone that string of words today is going to initiate a lot of upfront speculation about where this is going to go. And as I’m gathering from the press release, that was an intentional move in the naming convention. “How so?” You might ask.
Well, that’s what makes it a particularly interesting song. Lyrically, it’s a social commentary about the music industry in its current state. He sings, “you won’t see all of my friends, only overnight fans.” It’s a sentiment speaking to being an artist in which the social pressures behind “obtaining” the attention perceivably needed to be heard. Giack Bazz likens this to the adult content industry.
Amongst a saturated place of “influencers, grassroots venues, and shameless plugs,” the artist questions truly how much difference exists between the behaviors artists exhibit to get attention for their own music. Thus, an underlying intent of sparking self-reflection and provoking thought is posed.

The track was recorded at Groundfloor Studios in the UK, mixed by Davide Cristiani, and mastered on tape by Luca Tacconi. The production of the song is solid, the push and pull of “quiet/loud” guitar work gives the song some really nice dynamics. Giack Bazz’s vocals are perfect for the way he writes. As I hear it, it seems so familiar to me, but I can’t quite pinpoint any particular artist who it reminds me of. More so I think the cadence and vibe he expresses is mostly what strikes a strong familiarity with me.
Another interesting aspect of this work are the plans in store for releasing a music video to accompany the single. I had the opportunity to watch the video ahead of time and it’s a high-quality production by @Wannalog Films. Model Alexandra Pinheiro is featured in the video, across a dinner table from Bazz with an assortment of various types of food, we’re talking doughnuts, blood oranges, just all sorts of stuff.
Visually it kind of parodies the whole ASMR thing, and leans into sexual innuendo while playing with the food. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not some sort of crazy filth (c’mon get your mind out of the gutter lol); it’s actually a bit of a playful tiptoeing along the lines of innuendo.
The in-between shots of Giack Bazz playing his guitar over a white backdrop kind of reminds of a 90s aesthetic similar to a Gin Blossoms or R.E.M. music video from back in the day. As interesting as that all is, the part I’m finding particularly interesting is Bazz’s plans to launch the release of it on a real “Only Fans” page with again, an intent to provoke thought and spark conversation:
“They would have never watched the music video if it wasn’t for the sexual aspect, I want the listener to think about the commodification of music and simultaneously how twisted the industry has become” Giack Bazz

Lyrics:
If it’s true that one’s company and two is a crowd
There were Three many people singing too loud.
It’s a joke that hits too close to home
One that no one laughs to at anymore
There’s no overnight success
Only morning Fans
Who Keep as far as they can
Watching disinterested the stage
With a drink in their hand
It’s a shot in the dark
A guide dog that barks
I would have changed
if i’d known what i’d become
This little song and dance
is taking a stance
Let’s put a gig up my man
You won’t see all of my friends
only overnight Fans
All my favourite albums are old enough to drink in the UK
And i’ve sat long enough at the table but haven’t won a single game.
I’m not your favourite artist anymore
But you don’t know what’s left in store.
With no lies to keep me warm and no gun to kiss in vain
What am I supposed to scorn now that I am older than Cobain?
no there’s no overnight success
and yes it’s not how it went
But I’d do it again
Quickly write with your heart
There’s no time for revenge
Share that track of an album
Gift the record to a friend
save your excuses for them
I’ll break a leg when I can
a toast to all of my plans
and dreams of dissent
You think i’d have changed
if I had known how it went
You won’t see all of my friends
only overnight Fans.
