This spring, Raynald Grenier starts off with a new series of works made specially for string quartets. The first piece to come out as a part of this new project is “Canon in E Flat”, a stunning and fairly majestic musical piece as vivid as life can be.
Composer and musician Raynald Grenier has a long history in stage performances as an accompanying pianist and a conductor, and the artist has a keen ear for bringing out the most from the instruments. Now as a composer, Raynald continues doing so. Recently, he started off with composing music for string quartets, thus creating “The String Quartet Collection”, an ongoing project that brings out the absolute best from this particular form of classical music.
The air is immediately filled with grand feelings of gratitude and admiration, as “Canon in E Flat” begins to form those emotions into harmonic melodies. It sounds golden and mature while embracing the budging youthful springtime energy and good beginnings. In addition to vibrant imagery, the piece has a calm pacing, making it an ideal companion for relaxing and finding inner peace. In fact, Raynald Grenier suggests to just sit back and to close your eyes when listening to the piece. Let the melodies do the rest.
While “Canon in E Flat” is for enjoying the current moment at its fullest, Raynald also has the near future sorted out – there will be a new string quartet piece coming in spring 2025, titled “Adagio in G Minor”.
