This June sees the release of Cris Cap’s newest body of work – the EP titled “Unrequited”. Arriving as a culmination of last few years of collaborations and featuring stories of love’s unpredictable nature, as well as resilience in difficult times, “Unrequited” is set to get the body moving with a whole bunch of hope-infused funky tunes.
Hailing from Germany, Cris Cap is a songwriter, producer and a pianist with love for uplifting yet close-to-heart music. His own music could also be described in such words, as it’s an uplifting blend of funky soulful R&B with a whole lot of groove. That’s the kind of music Cris Cap fell in love with, and that’s what is driving his own creations today.
It’s no surprise that “Unrequited” would also feature a warm funk-infused soulful sound. What is different this time though, is the creative process in all of the 6 tracks. This EP has seen Cris collaborate with fellow German musicians as well as singers from UK and USA, and as a result it features a rich variety of sound ranging from the bold and twangy to charming and as bright as daylit sky.
Five of the EP’s tunes have already been released as singles, which you can check put today on Bandcamp and whichever streaming service you make use of. The release itself is named after the 6th, yet to be revealed tune – a story of unanswered love titled “Unrequited”. This one’s marching forth with a high mood as the first track of the EP, while diving into the foolish state of being in love with someone, who couldn’t care less.
There are also more cheerful encounters of love represented on the album, such as “Angel in My Room”, a rather heavenly post-surgery encounter with a nurse caring for the patient, and “Show My Love”, a tune reflecting on the driving force of music in the artist’s life since childhood. This, and more can be heard in full, when “Unrequited” EP throws off its veil on June 28th.
