The Muster Point Project’s newest single “Now We’re Successful” is out now! an tongue-in-cheek indie rock tune about meeting up with a coworker from the past job. It’s been ages since the last time your paths crossed, and now you’re both boasting about success, whether it’s the truth or really not.
A message on LinkedIn pops up. It’s from a distant acquaintance, a colleague from a job you left ages ago, and they’re curious about how you’re doing now. The Muster Point Project sees the message and gives a look back towards the now faded days of working at that job. The person they were back then has since become something else instead. Oh, how successful? Well…
“Now We’re Successful” gives a charming and perfectly round answer to that question as the conversation quickly goes into being wealthy and having a good life. As the screen and smiley icons keeps the truth hidden, the song humorously revisits happenings in the past (namely getting that person fired), and sees the grudges covered by the mutual boasting of current success and endless riches. Pretty funny how things happen in life sometimes, as the song goes on a car ride thinking about the conversation.

While the riches and wealth can be either true or false, the single itself is true for being a delightful and light-hearted gaze into the sort of topic that often gets discussed between ex-colleagues. It also arrives as a part of an upcoming full-length release promising more true-to-life tales written with a little sarcasm in tow. Look forward to the dusky November days, that’s when The Muster Point Project is planning to drop the album named “It Was Here He Received His Only Formal Education”.
