Inspired by bands like Chevelle, Tool, QOTSA, Filter, and Pendulum, Signal Static creates a unique blend of personal introspection with social commentary. Advocates of authenticity, they beg the question of what it means to be a good Human.
“Cancel Me” seems to be a track that tries to find common ground in a time where you can get canceled really fast. If you’re not careful about your words, you might throw your life away, especially if you’re famous.

The track speaks to the accountability we must hold for our actions. It plays with the idea that it is ok for us to be silenced if our words are ill intended. In words of lead vocalist and bassist Ryan Stringer:
“Nobody wants to be preached at, and in this case we’re pointing the finger at ourselves and basically acknowledging that we aren’t perfect people, and if we screw up and hurt somebody we should accept the consequences for that and learn to be better.”
Musically there’s definitely a lot of influence from 90’s Alt Rock, Grunge, and Metal. It comes with a familiar taste, both vocally and riff-wise. My only observation would be that the overall sound is a bit thin, probably because of the way it was recorded.
Anyways, it is a daring single with a bold message that I’m sure will give lots to talk about.
