All the way from Haifa, Israel, singer-songwriter, poet and aerospace engineering professor Pini Gurfil returns with “Final Romance”, the third track taken from his upcoming album Read the Lyrics. Pini’s sense of style and composition is a very unique one, blending oldschool production arrangements with modern takes in a way that flows seamlessly.
On “Final Romance”, Pini Gurfil goes one step further and dabbles with elements from classic and prog rock, creating an experience thoroughly enhanced by waves of melody and sound. The song was written in response to the abiding battles of songwriting and the sinking feelings of hopelessness and fear of rejection. The theme explored by the artist may be hard for the dark turn, even though the atmosphere makes it lighter, making it a pleasant experience for our ears by the production.

The track takes you through an emotional journey, shining a pretty insightful light into the struggles of being an artist and the constant struggles between “desperation and inspiration”. It stands as a kind of love letter addressed to Art itself, depicting the hardships and societal judgments with candid honesty.
The music video that accompanies the track is also a pretty interesting one, as it shows people getting through several different art forms from blacksmithing to performance and everyone goes through the same anxieties sung about by Pini. It’s a beautiful video and a very smart way to get the point across.
“Final Romance” walks a very interesting line between being true to yourself and opening up, showing vulnerability and integrity, while also feeling fearful of showing those feelings in the face of the cut-throat music industry who never cares about actual people. Pini raises so may pertinent questions on “Final Romance”, you can’t help but reflect on all of those points raised by the musician. Even though a single answer isn’t anywhere to be found, the track does an amazing job in exposing some of the inner struggles regarding the making of art and will definitely make you see your favourite artist in a brand new way.
