In an era, where everything seems to be going spectacularly downhill and only uneasy news come from every channel possible, it feels like humankind has collectively screwed up their living conditions. The damage is felt far and wide and results in distress and depression. Kat Kikta’s new song comes in, soothingly addressing the fears felt by many. How can one go on if everything around them is on fire?
“Cherry Trees” starts with compassion, reaching out to the troubled souls particularly among the new generation. To soothe the pain, healing frequencies and gentle sounds of violins and harp are used to create a spiritual springtime realm for the soul to rest in,as Kat’s hypnotizing vocals speak reassurance. In the realm, cherry trees grow in numbers and the delicate melodies reflect that of the pink blossoms. After flames and decay have run over everything, the spring flowers will still come out to bloom.

For the music video fans, Kat Kikta has created a visual piece running almost like a short movie. The beginning is eery as can be, reflecting the uncertainty caused by bad news, but is soon gently and with determination overtaken by the evocative melodies. The video will be screened at various venues and galleries in London.
Spirituality and healing are major features in Kat Kikta’s cinematic ambient pop sound. The artist feels at home in both music and film as well as sound art, and many of the instruments featured in her music are those often used in spiritualism and meditation. “Cherry Trees” is the first part of an upcoming spiritual journey of an album, reflecting on the power of peace and union.
