The double-bladed sword of beauty and destruction, “Medusa”, is Catherine Elms’s newest song to arrive on April 4th. This one is a final destination song for the poor soul trapped in the highly deadly charm with no way to escape, and a terrifying rock anthem of a true monster.

Somewhere in the deep dark caverns, a large scene with no exits takes residence. Big gloomy bass echoes showing the vastness of the place, and its texture reveals nothing but darkness. Catherine’s powerful voice carries a whole lot of emotion, mostly from the deadly side of things, and her presence is bewitching.
This cavern is not necessarily a physical place. Catherine has taken the myth of Medusa and tied it with the dark, messy emotions present in all humans, kept hidden from daylight in those inner caverns. These emotions protect our vulnerabilities, and those depths must be descended into to unlock the path to healing. It’s rightfully unsettling, but also very human. Embrace your flaws and you’ll grow stronger.
“Medusa” is the first single from Catherine’s upcoming second album, showing her skills at creating impactful and emotionally fluent alt-rock sound. Inspirations range from myths and life to musicians like Tori Amos, Fiona Apple, and Nick Cave, and Catherine taking a little bit of everything to build worlds where bright feelings go alongside the dark ones.
