Hailing from Halifax, Canada, this singer-songwriter draws inspiration from personal struggles and tries to convey a message of hope. She first wrote the lyrics to this single nine years ago, during her time in the Canadian Country Music Awards scene.
“I was at the Canadian Country Music Awards and a famous Canadian country artist happened to be walking by as I was writing the song and he asked to see it actually, and I didn’t realize who he was at first but I handed him the song and he read it and he said “Wow that’s really good” and handed it back to me and then he said “that could be a big song that one” and then he walked away, it was later on that I found out who he was and, it meant a great deal to me that he approved, he was actually teaching a songwriting class at the showcases there.” – Irian Darkwood

“Light At The End Of The Tunnel” is not your typical singer-songwriter song. It is an explosive and dynamic Rock-infused single, that delivers brute force and a huge wall of sound.
There’s definitely a sense of power within the song, the fierce instrumental holds nothing back, and Irian Darkwood sings with the utmost emotion and passion. The choruses are gigantic, with wide vocals that scream with a deep and primal force.
It is a pretty good song with an outstanding production, as it offers different dynamic changes but never really goes down in energy. It is fun, exciting and impressive to listen to.
A song aimed to help people with mental health issues as well as those battling with addictions. Darkwood wanted to send a message that no matter what happens in life, recovery is possible. Things can get better.
As a last message, Darkwood says:
“I really hope the people really enjoy this song and that they can actually relate and find some sort of hope to know that even if they’re in the dark as it stands right now that there is that proverbial light at the end of the tunnel and there’s relief from the darkness, and that they’re not alone I think is the important message to send also”
