Mexican artist José-Alberto Gallegos, under the moniker ProntaCorde, has just announced his brand-new single “Feel Like Doing Some Dancing”. On his first track since 2023’s “Everybody Clap!“, the musician creates a song that is colourful and vibrant, channelling a myriad of influences that range from 80s synthpop to 90s experimental electronic music with a hip-hop delivery.

It’s a refreshing track embellished by an astounding inspiration taken from The Avalanches’s seminal Since I Left You, highlighting Gallegos’s own ability to take risks in the name of innovation. “Feel Like Doing Some Dancing” clocks in at just three minutes but it feels like a lifetime’s worth of creative bliss. The highly experimental tune manipulates sounds, tempos and samples in order to come up with something that is entirely new but not entirely unlike Girl Talk’s sample-based records from the early 2000s.

“The song was inspired by that feeling when you hear a track that makes you want to dance”, the artist says. Chronicling in technicolor details the hopeful apprehension of getting yourself out into the dancefloor, the artist’s new single stands as an invitation into ecstasy. “You’ve got the energy and the rhythm, but there’s still that sweet moment of anticipation – the gentle pull to get your partner to join you” – and by the time “Feel Like Doing Some Dancing” kicks in, you’re already out there boogieing down and living your best, unhinged life.

A track that is more about feeling than lyricism, more about action than thought, “Feel Like Doing Some Dancing” is carried by infectious beats and intricate melodies that resonate even with the stiffest of dancers. Focused on allowing the listener to let go and enjoy themselves amongst the ever evolving and interesting pacing, the new single from ProntaCorde establishes the artist from Mexico City as one of the most creative producers in contemporary electronics.

Capturing the playful tension of a will-they-won’t-they dynamic, the track builds itself upwards on the foundation laid out by excitement and tenderness. An electropop song that actually feels like a much-needed breath of fresh air, “Feel Like Doing Some Dancing” is an enthralling experience of unadulterated joy that comes from a very intimate place. With no ulterior motive other than getting down to it, Gallegos crafted a track that beams with positivity at its core.

A gentle teaser of what we’re to expect from his upcoming album Intercontinental Radio: Sounds from Another Place, Another Time, the track serves as a blissful reminder to just have fun. A dancefloor-ready anthem that urges the listener to let loose, let go and have an absolute blast, ProntaCorde’s new track cements José-Alberto Gallegos as a pivotal artist in the contemporary sample-based electronics. Heading a much anticipated revolution in dance music, ProntaCorde’s latest single is the epitome of a party song for the ages. It’s not that serious, so just get up and dance your heart out – it’s been waiting for you.
