After a great string of independent releases that includes the Spotify-debut album Labyrinth last year, american southern rock band Rosetta West is back with a brand-new project. God of the Dead is their latest full-length album and continues strong the engaging and captivating music they’ve been steadily putting out since the beginning. The album opens with STAND-OUT track “Boneyard Blues”, an oldschool blues-inspired song that serves as the mission statement for the record as a whole.

On “Boneyard Blues” the Illinois-based act comes out swinging with thrilling melodies and impeccable delivery from frontman and founder Joseph Demagore. Written and produced by Demagore himself, “Boneyard Blues” finds Rosetta West at their most primal and raw while channelling an infeccious classic rock energy with staggering determination. The track is fueled by gritty guitar riffs that unfold in angular shapes as Joseph’s vocals are brooding and drenched in psychedelic influences.
The track feels like a rejuvenation for the band, from the timeless production to guest drummer Caden Cratch’s eager patterns.
