Audra Watt, a Nashville-based singer-songwriter, has just released her newest single “Livin’ It Up”. This charming and inspiring indie rock song tells a story of the artist finding her true self and unlocking things she never thought she’d had access to.
You know how it goes. A stable job, family life and a generally well-rounded existence, that’s held together effortlessly. The person holding it together, however, has an inkling that has not yet been given that opportunity to grow and bloom yet, and now in the mature age of 40, the person thought that ship had sailed anyway long ago. Well, she was wrong.
After finally giving in to that inkling, the woman called Audra Watt has turned out to have a beautiful voice and a lot of things to write about. Her most recent single, “Livin’ It Up”, tells a story of how she broke free from the self-imposed chain and let her artistic spirit spread its wings. Recording the song did mean juggling with work schedules to go to the studio, but the result was well worth it.
In fact, when Audra told co-writerJeffrey East about her recent, out of the usual changes in life, this immediately became the basis of the song. Everything fell together naturally after that decision. The song was also produced twice, as she felt something was still missing in the first version of the song. The missing piece was found with William Gawley, a producer at Dark Horse Recording. Turned out, the story of finding yourself is not complete without a strong burst of rock and roll.
The single “Livin’ It Up” embodies a more whimsical approach to living, where schedules are relaxed and excitement has been brought back. It’s an anthemic song of life lived by her own terms. It’s never too late to give yourself a chance and try something new. Let the passion take you to new places and make you feel alive.
