On October 24th, Kat Kikta reveals her newest song of hypnotic, intimate realm. The song is titled “Your Voice In My Ear”, and it’s every bit as private and loveful as the title might suggest. Don’t expect a regular love song, though, as Kat Kikta has woven quite a storyline into the meditative song of affection and deep-seated devotion.

In ethereal atmospheres formed by passing tones of serene vocal sounds, a steady beat of a heart keeps going throughout the song. Bits of sound design bring glimpses of average reality into this strange, surreal realm, in which feelings blossom, while Kat’s close and intimate voice forms a spoken-word duet with a man. Not a real one, but one of artificial foundation, a sentient machine.
Their tender foray into loveful feelings see a combination whispery, fixed-pitch synthesized voice of a man, and the enormously intimate natural voice of a woman whispering, chuckling and feeling fully open. A long-distance exploration of each other takes place much as if it’s a phone call between two lovers separated by an ocean. The sound of a beating heart resurfacing from the flow of sounds brings with it a feeling of immense happiness, but also severe case of longing for physical contact.
Kat Kikta has also created a music video for the song, which represents the fluttery feelings of happiness and the troubled state of physical loneliness through slow imagery of a dancing woman. Industrial-looking places abandoned at a late hour become a place where intimate feelings collide with the strict, somewhat sterile places inhabited by machinery.
Kat Kikta continues crafting thoughtful, immersive music that explores the deep parts of our souls, those that are rarely ever looked at and lack clear words to give them names. Writing that out already sounds daunting, but Kat is not only fearless on her quest, but also perfectly equipped with her deep love and understanding of spiritualism and music’s inherent power of healing and unity.
