UK-based producer Consequential is back with a new solid piece of electronic music, titled “Dark Sky”. Driven by nocturnal energy, the new song is carried by the speed of drum breaks and the echo of vocals. The sky is dark and so are the thoughts at this hour, but “Dark Sky” leaves no space for the negative feelings. Instead, the nighttime drum&bass tune invites to experience the world veiled in darkness for what it really is.
This single arrives with a sense of urgency, which immediately raises its head as the string swells puncture the silence. Vocals, intimate and fluttery, give off a strong desire to escape the darkness as she whispers close by and soaks in the rain in the distance. A storm brews within the track just like the emotional whirlpool that happens, when the dark thoughts take over.
Within the darkness, clean breaks provide smooth, wonderful energy akin to speeding on a brand new highway, or soaring through the nightsky. This same energy also feeds the story of breaking through the negative thoughts that keep brewing in one’s mind, giving more power into the willingness to destroy the bad thoughts. It may still be dark, but it doesn’t mean one has to suffer in those nightly hours.
The single arrives fresh out of Consequential’s ever-evolving studio whilst staying true to the producer’s ethos “Keep working on your music and yourself”. As part of the artist’s own explorative journey, “Dark Sky” is a layered piece of art which keeps revealing new detail with every subsequent listen.
