Michellar, the San Francisco based producer-songwriter, is back with another offering from her fast-expanding discography. This one is “Crossed”, a single with a Latin flair to it, fitting to the story of passionate disagreements the song was inspired by. “Crossed” aims to redirect the vitriol and displeasure to a more appropriate place – dance and you will not feel so angry anymore!

Arguments come from a place of enthusiasm, and the one that ended up being the foundation for “Crossed” was about a project. The person had crossed her heart, leaving her feeling … so mad. As a creative person, Michelle’s emotions quickly found a place in a song, which initially was slower to carry more of that hefty, angry feel.

Slow didn’t quite match the intensity, though. Michelle found that body-moving rhythms and groovy synths carry the intensity of emotions much better, and in a way that lets the listener get rid of the buildup of anger. While the lyrics remain angry, a dancy beat shifting between two different rhythms and a passion coming from Latin influences invite a proper shake on the dancefloor. Get the emotions out and flow away to the groovy music.
As has become the norm with Michellar’s music, “Crossed” is a collaboration of efforts from multiple countries. For this single, vocals were provided by Ukrainian singer Lillian, while producer Marius from Romania did the finishing touches on the track. For Michelle, the excitement and ease of collaboration in today’s digital age drive her to create more music with talented people from across the world, to the joy of her listeners.
