Home to deep melancholy, “Passionate Eye” carries Frank’s signature sound of all things haunting, beautiful, soulful, fleeting and emotional. Those words can also be used to describe the mind of an artist and the way they see the world and things around them. “Passionate Eye” does refer to an artist’s passion of creating art out of things they see, revealing layers of creative decisions now embedded in their surroundings.

Tonally dark yet hopeful and powered by evocative wails of electric guitar, the song hits as a deeply intimate one, as it explores the becoming of an artistic mind in a child, and how much of that inner creative working remains hidden in the person, away from the looks of others only seeing the resulting artworks. It’s a whole another layer of magic unlocked, complete with trade offs and an unsettling quantity of hard-to-explain emotions.
This luminosity presents itself in the song’s dedicated video, which explores the lives of two artists living together, one a painter and the other making art from everyday objects and herself. Each decision, movement and expression made visible in the video echoes the lyrics and life as person blessed-cursed by an artistically visionary mind.
“Passionate Eye” is the 10th song on Frank’s new full-length titled “Fertile Mind”. Consisting of music that had been released over the course of last year, the album contains a musically diverse selection of works ranging from the very gentle and hushed to rhythmic powerhouses, all linked together by soft-spoken lyrics of poetic quality and ethereal atmosphere.
