Gentle guitar melodies and layered vocals form a stark contrast with the context that inspired the creation of this single. Times of war, massacres and suffering brought forth by greed, the vice of human nature, have become so long that news from wars is part of daily life now. Michellar’s delicate lyricism visualise the daily life in the middle of the bombings and the constantly rising toll of deaths.

While the war-causing greed rages on, the single concentrates on what would bring an end to the massacre. Michellar says it would be love, for it is against the ideas causing all that suffering. She also suggests hope, the little guiding light in times of hardship and despair, and the driving force for finding peace.
The song was born as a collaboration between Michellar, who wrote the lyrics and melody, and Robi Bean, who did the production. Its acoustic nature was inspired by the greats like Bob Dylan, and carries a raw, exposed tone to highlight the seriousness of the topic at hand. The single encapsulates hope and a caressing hug, as it stands against the rampant bloodbath of no future, which keeps going in Ukraine, but also in many other parts of the world.
Michellar, who has just released her debut full-length album, is now preparing an EP to be released in coming summer. It will be filled with 5 tracks carrying intimate, acoustic sound with 60s influences, and it’s name is “Homegrown”.
