Back with their 13th single since 2021, Sweden-based alternative rock duo Smoke Spider just released “The Creature” and they continue to impress audiences. Navigating through their usual blend of hard rock and indie sensibilities, “The Creature” finds Smoke Spider adding new flourishes to their sound in fascinating ways such as stoner rock and touches of doom metal that work incredibly well on the new song.
Formed by lead vocalist Göran Florström alongside multi-instrumentalist and producer Johan Granat, Smoke Spider creates a haunting atmosphere on “The Creature”. The track follows a nightmarish landscape of childhood fear and uncertainty, giving enough emotional weight to match the song’s eeriness without one overpowering the other. This release unfolds with a simmering approach, letting the moods and feelings set and build upon each other with remarkable precision.

“The Creature” is a complex and intricate track about facing something horrible and finding the strength not to give in or give up, offering a surprisingly hopeful undertone and making it one of their best and most unique tracks yet.
