Floridan singer-songwriter Liz Nash has just released a new song titled “Ducks Fly to Florida”. The lighthearted and soft song is the third part in Liz’s ongoing Florida Songs collection and encapsulates the desire for warmth and sunshine shared between traveling humans and migratory birds. The lakes and shores of Florida have room for both.

Like the previous two releases in the slice-of-life collection of Florida Songs, this one is an acoustic joy. Gentle, playful, and sunny melodies flow at a leisurely pace in a warm realm of infinite summer. With an atmosphere full to the brim with happiness and joy, the single shows exactly what it feels like to rest your bones far away from the cold, stormy north.

Ducks preening themselves in the bright blue water seem to agree. Warmth, food grown by the tropical sun, and simple existence away from icy troubles are a shared joy between birds and humans. It’s a holiday for all encapsulated in the vibrant song, nourishing like a cocktail made of local sun-baked fruits, and chill, like the slow deep ocean waves.

The song came to fruition through collaboration with fellow skilled musicians. Percussionist Paul Gonzalez gave the single its laidback feeling of slowed down time, and bassist Oskar Cartaya added some extra depth. John Marsden gave his studio space for the recording process and layered the song with chilled background vocal hums, giving the song its calm, peaceful and somewhat intoxicating charm.

Liz Nash takes little moments in life, like the natural desire for the sun, and turns them into genuine, wholehearted songs in which, on the surface, those simple things reveal their true depth. Life as a human is a kaleidoscope of everything, and Liz Nash concentrates on capturing the fleeting moments of it.
