This twirling, confusing dance takes place in a dreamy synth pop atmosphere, where slow-paced beat carries that unsubtle tension and synth chords echo into the vastness. Among the violet haze of melodies, Michelle’s lyrics shine through, depicting the intense tug of war between restraining oneself, and hoping these feelings of love are not one-sided.

Born from a personal story of suddenly growing feelings towards a collaborator, the single goes on to shed light to the sheer confusion those feelings are able to bring forth. Will it be over tomorrow if i hold my distance today? “Do We Love Us” has no real answer, but it does offer solace to those trapped in similar times of confusion, when love definitely doesn’t make things easier for anyone.
This song, originally supposed to be slower and guitar-driven, carries a magical, soft ambiance to it with its infectious, easy-going synthy groove. For Michellar, the song marks a new step in her ongoing evolution as an artist, showing her ability to put more whimsical, hard-to-capture flutters of emotion into music and giving listeners something, that is easy to relate to.
