San Francisco-based singer, songwriter and producer Michelle Bond is back once again with her project Michellar, this time with a heartfelt country ballad. “Love Me Fair” explores her folk sensibilites to their maximum as she reflects on a true love that is constantly challenged by distance and life’s overwhelming responsibilities. “Love Me Fair” was inspired by Michelle finding herself in a long-distance relationship of her own and trying to capture the universal feelings that come along with it. “I couldn’t help but think that many other couples go
through this, and that is why I wrote this song”, the artist says. The personal tone of the track transpires from the very first chords as the piano sets the harsh reality tone, and the strings set it free.
It’s a beautiful track heavily influenced by the likes of Crosby, Stills & Nash that instantly reveals itself as a vulnerable and compelling portrayal of love across life’s tribulations. “Love Me Fair” strikes an intimate balance between such insecurities and the solace of knowing you’re not alone in any of it. The song captures the emotional nuance of loving someone you can’t be around all the time with remarkable serenity, perfectly illustrating the anticipation and uncertainty of the situation while still finding the strength and trust to continue.
