RenDaPan, artist making music on a handpan, has just revealed his newest single “Puro”, recorded in a beautiful location next to flowing water. It’s a vibrant and calm piece made to create a space of serenity and tranquility for the listeners to escape to from the busy noisy world.
The sound of “Puro” came to be in the mountains of southern Spain, where the soothing melodies of handpan were recorded with the background of nature and softly flowing water. RenDaPan unlocks the instrument’s innate healing powers through music so full that it’s hard to believe all it is coming from just one source. There’s warmth flowing through the music, much like a gentle breeze one can imagine in the sunlit forests of the Spanish mountains. In fact, you can hear the breeze in the surrounding leaves.
Influence for the melodies comes from the same place – specks of sunlight, softly moving leaves and that near-ethereal peace that emanates from the surroundings. It’s the complete opposite to what we are surrounded with in daily basis, and RenDaPan’s wish is to allow all listeners to be surrounded in peaceful nature, just on your own. A few minutes of “Puro” and its serene melodies will cut the cortisol levels in half right away.
English-born and currently based in Spain, RenDaPan is a musician with a philosophy of pure, unaltered calmness. When making and recording music, the artist seeks out places of utter peace, such as a fresh mountain stream or a beach at sunset, sets up the handpan, and plays the piece. The music is captured in a single take and does not get altered in any way or form, meaning what you hear at home is exactly what you would hear sitting next to the artist in that calm environment.
The Spanish mountains, or any completely untouched serene location lacking all human-made sounds are very far from most of us. RenDaPan makes it so that you don’t have to search for such a place in times of need, and can relax in the comfort of your house with your mind in the sunny spiritual mountain range.
