Michellar, San Francisco-based singer-songwriter, is back on the blog to show a new direction the creative artist is heading now. Inspired by the psychedelic sounds of her teenage years coming from Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and other legends, Michellar has created “Can’t Get You Out Of My Mind”, a mind-expanding expressive journey into her own mind troubled with obsessive thoughts.

The journey starts off with notes reminiscent of flamenco bringing in the air of sensuality into the hypnotic reflective atmosphere. Those misty, sultry notes surround Michellar’s voice singing lines of deep, previously strictly undisclosed thoughts. An evocative soul-stirring realm is built, in which the journey shifts into a rocky, loopy gear with freely changing rhythms and wailing guitars.
The track and its untamed rhythmic passages open a previously unexplored window into Michellar’s artistry. Born from a dire need to give voice to those tragic, obsessive thoughts that have been bubbling inside, the song becomes a vessel of pure self-expression, where each note contributes to the messy, intense whirlwind of love-troubled thoughts just waiting for the right moment to grow out of control.
During the making of this song, Michelle joined hands with producer Michael Beckheart, a Nashville-based artist who shares Michellar’s love for psychedelic rock music. In recording process, Michellar wished to explore making psychedelic music as it felt closest to the working theme of intense obsessive desire, and together they brought the vision to life.
This single serves as the first taste of Michellar’s upcoming full-length album of psychedelia, which is set for release in spring 2027.
