Italian singer-songwriter Maria Grazia Altea has just released her newest song “Black Out”, inspired by the fleeting nature of life. The brooding dark folk song observes the relentless passage of time, and how some of the most impactful memories of ours only lasted for a moment at the time. Life is brutal, but full of beauty, and “Black Out” shows the beauty of it.
Gentle guitar melodies introduce the listener into a foggy twilight atmosphere, where emotions raise like still trees from the shadows. Here, Maria’s voice carrying the weight of feelings explores the moments of connection, once present and quickly moving into the past.
Through poetic lyrics and the tension in her singing, those moments come back one more time in their photographic glory, reminding how some of the smallest touches have the biggest impact. In the persistent twilight mode where future is a mystery and life a fast-paced fragile creature, those moments can be grounding for us.
Maria Grazia Altea wrote the song and its melody entirely by herself, and recorded the moody and melancholic guitar that brought us into the eventide. Production, sound engineering and mastering was handled by producer and fellow artist Benedetta Sotgiu.

In particular she is drawn to creating songs where vulnerability and authentic emotions shine through, allowing listeners to connect to, and relate to the message within.
