RenDaPan, London-based artist with a handpan, is back to mesmerize listeners with a new release, this time accompanied by the glowing and crackling campfire. Come sit down, and let the harmonizing sounds of handpan, together with the warmth and sounds of a firepit, carry the worries away into the night.
Imagine it’s late evening and the sun is long gone. It’s dark and getting quieter as everyone settles in for the night, and the remnants of the Sun’s warmth is softly disappearing. in the midst of it, a fire is ignited in a small pit, spreading light to those sitting nearby. Something really ancient gets summoned by the sight and sounds of the fire, a feeling that transcends time and space.
This ancient energy is captured by RenDaPan’s rhythmic melodies, where spiritualism meets deep ancestral energy. Echoing notes fade into the darkness much like the fire’s embers that get released from logs and fly up into the sky, while the crackling sounds evoke cozy warmth.
“Trataka” is the newest of RenDaPan’s collection of music recorded on site with minimal sound processing post-recording. His pieces are fully capable of transporting listeners into places where he plays them, opening portals to remote parts of wilderness, or to tonight’s firepit embedded in this warm summer eve when everything is just fine.
In this busy and increasingly messed-up world, RenDaPan seeks to bring moments of calmness spent in nature with the harmonies of his handpan. Sometimes, all you need is an evening spent gazing into the dancing flames and listening to something truly soul-soothing.
