C’batch is back with a fresh collection of music. The US-based musician and composer has just released an EP titled “Our Little Pooh Pea (The Last Light)”, consisting of 4 different versions of the song with each offering a unique atmosphere. At the bottom of the tracklist is the 4 – Cinematic version, which is what we’re going to take a closer look to.
A strong nocturnal atmosphere is evoked as soon as the song starts, with smooth synths and slow percussion creating a spacious existence. At the center stage, an electric guitar solo sets in to sing, wail and shimmer, telling a wordless story of the light of hope and the darkness surrounding us. The foggy alt rock soundscapes let the guitar’s melodies shine bright and create vivid imagery in the listener’s mind.
The guitar solo, originally present in another composition “Round and Round”, caught the artist’s attention when he revisited the work. There was something more waiting to be set free inside those riffs, and C’batch decided to let the guitar take the lead in telling its tale. The result is well worth it, an atmospheric instrumental alt-rock song with a potential for being timeless and a voice for the darker hours in our lives.
The single stands as a rather unique example in C’batch’s discography, a representation of reimagining a piece of music into something completely different. If you notice AI label next to the song on streaming services, the reason is fairly simple. During the production stage, C’batch used AI tools to help polish the song, but the recordings and composition of the track are done purely by the man himself.
