Seaker, a singer-songwriter of Indian and English background, is back from her two-year music break with a new single, a gentle and intimate “Fracture”. In this song, a longer gaze into oneself takes place to understand those cracks and friction points in one’s thoughts and feelings. We as humans are infinitely complex and often stuck in our heads, and “Fracture” stands as a soft-spoken song of comfort and solace in times of need.
OREDER “FRACTURE” ON BANDCAMP NOW!
The inward gaze starts off with acoustic melodies evoking calmness and a bit of melancholy. It’s in a vast space mostly veiled by fog and home to a particularly serene echo embracing all melodies and voices. Underneath, a disturbed mind is slowly exposed as Seaker’s mellow and emotional voice explores difficult feelings clashing with one another, much like several entities trying to control one stick shift. It’s a heavy toll on one’s mind, and the person is lost in this thick haze the song is now flowing in.
It’s easy to lose hope when you’re such a mess on the inside, and that’s what the acoustic melodies and echoing voice seek to bring back and allow space for the listener to explore and understand those fractured thoughts. It’s not possible to rid oneself of those fractures, this dark messy side is unfortunately an integral part of human existence. But what can be done is to understand and embrace yourself with all the inner conflicts and cracks.

That’s what it is, an uncomfortable side of us standing firm and wearing a crown of twigs. Will you try to shoo it away and wear yourself out, or will you embrace that side and look for a collaborative existence?
“Fracture” is a strong example of Seaker’s art of exploring life’s difficulties through soft evocative soundscapes and poetic lyricism. As we are stuck in a loud, messy world battling with equally loud and messy minds, Seaker’s offering of solace and quiet space for figuring ourselves out is more than welcome, it’s something we need. A little bit of therapy wrapped in beautiful music, it can’t get much better than that.
