Gianfranco Pescetti, songwriter, producer and bassist with an ITALIAN AMERICAN background, has been working hard on his third full-length album. Titled “This Side of the Door”, the album is a collection of personal themes and life stories, and one of its first tastes, “Heidi” will be revealed very soon, on September 25th.

Echoing soft guitar wails introduce a humid, melancholic atmosphere reaching far beyond this realm. In here, memories and dreams have intertwined and formed a foundational force running as an undercurrent of the song, and as a driving force for the artist. Those memories are of a special person Heidi Vincent, a cellist, architect and visual artist who believed in Pescetti’s dream path as a musician.
The deep connection and endless gratitude for Heidi’s encouragement and faith in him is brought further by the bass part of the single. It was recorded on 1977 Fender Precision Bass, a beautiful bass guitar Heidi gifted him years ago.
Though the person is no more, “Heidi” echoes through the layers of existence and keeps her memory alive with emotionally stirring lyrics and luminous melodies. The stinging, saddening loss can only be soothed by the sheer impact her friendship and presence gave him, and that’s what must be carried on through life.
Gianfranco and Heidi met at a period of time when the artist was retiring from being a professional ballet dancer and wished to pursue music. Now, the artist makes music with focus on memories, transformation and atmosphere, and combines possibilities of electronica with the raw, organic songwriting he has been honing with passion. All thanks to someone, who once believed in him.
