“Vampire Girl in Love” is an energetic and sensual interpretation of the attraction between humans and vampires, told from the undead girl’s perspective. It’s an incredibly sweet love song that manages to sound universal in its approach and appeal, in spite of subject matter. The song’s AI-powered official video portrays the balance between traditional gothic depictions of vampires with oldschool jazz bars, making the story even more compelling.
The track unfolds with a bittersweet revelation that twists usual vampire lore in its head: our narrator is just as happy to stay in love if her loved one chooses to stay mortal. It’s the ultimate sacrifice that many love songs try to but fail to capture in its full intent; perhaps only made possible by its supernatural nature.
Andrei British firmly places himself as a very competent storyteller, with a singular knack for musicality. His songs feel more and more intricate each time, and the production does a great job in keeping up with their general aesthetic. “Vampire Girl in Love” stands as a surprisingly sweet love song that should give warmth to anyone – alive or dead.
