Spanish electronic music mogul Carlos Ucedda strikes back with brand-new single “Rainbow Is Your Soul”, a dark queer anthem that sounds unlike anything he’s done before. Taking influences and references from the likes of 90s Depeche Mode, italo disco and avant-pop, “Rainbow Is Your Soul” is an alluring track about living your own truth no matter what.

The track borrows elements from industrial and uses distortion to its advantage, offering a unique soundscape that swells with eerie passion and haunting melodies. Carlos does an excellent job in following the footsteps of “Signal Off” with a song that feels warm, inviting but slightly dangerous as well. On “Rainbow Is Your Soul” the artist isn’t afraid to go deeper into the dark territories he’s been teasing as of late and does that with remarkable taste.
“Rainbow Is Your Soul” stands as a cry for authenticity against all odds, turning trauma into strength. The song’s accompanying music video illustrates those nuances beautifully, contributing to a much-needed visual element that is organic and refreshing. Shot in an empty building and making excellent use of overexposure, the video captures the tension that rises between the two clashing scenarios through interpretative dance and textures of light.
Carlos delivers multi-textured vocals that go from operatic highs to velvet smooth lows, adding an incredible layer of diversity and dynamism that works very well from start to finish. “Rainbow Is Your Soul” is a defiant and vulnerable track that displays multitudes in equal depth, signalling an exciting and intriguing new path for him to explore even further and I cannot wait to hear more.
