LYD – SOMETHING

Debut single release – Friday 16th April 2021

Birmingham based LYD – the journey starts here!

It was another seemingly endless winter. But don’t you just love spring and the prospect of another summer? It becomes even better when we find great new music to soundtrack our seasons. “Is there something I’ve been searching for?” – well yes, most definitely… always! – and here it is – a debut single that will slide effortlessly into one of my chill, evening or sunset play-lists.

Sam Cooke, Otis Redding and Ella Fitzgerald are just a few of the iconic figures that have helped to influence LYD’s music

If you like yourself some Zero 7, Lianne La Havas or Morcheeba – this song will be right up your alley. It’s a lo-fi-indie-jazz-soul gem that has the feel of a much more established artist. The production is excellent and all of the parts come together playfully and professionally. Expertly building until it’s grand climax, you can tell that LYD and the other musicians had a great time creating these 200 seconds of music.

“The normality of being imperfect” – LYD is passionate about empowering people to be okay with not being perfect

Both wishful and wistful – this breezy, light, airy song glides along like a butterfly in a meadow. The lazy, almost stoned guitars provide a perfect backdrop to LYD’s smooth, warm, endearing vocals. The vibe this song creates is pensive and yet carefree – it’s as fresh as a daisy! It’s finally time for us all to ease into the warmer, brighter seasons with some vulnerable and melodic music. I also very much look forward to hearing LYD’s future musical releases as the year progresses.
