Ollie Twohill is a singer-songwriter from Murwillumbah, Australia. After the success of his previous single “boots”, in which he sings of following our own, personal, way, he comes back with full force with “Silk Dress”. This newest track is inspired by his childhood, especially, by his celebrity crush on Avril Lavinge when he was five years old! All he could dream about at that moment was that he would love to play with her! Looking back at that time, Ollie Twohill discovered that that dream was what inspired him to follow his music career and to go as far as he is nowadays. “Silk Dress” was recorded at Gold Coast, Australia with siblings Blair Hamilton at the drums and Lawson Hamilton at the bass. It was mastered by Mike Kalajian at Rogue Planet Mastering in New York.
“Silk Dress” tells the story of a young girl who dreams of getting into the charts and decides to dedicate her life as a musician. Inspired by his celebrity crush, Ollie Twohill’s lyrics tackle the themes of never letting go of your aspirations. The story he portrays is relatable in the sense that everyone has had, at one moment of their lives, something they wish to achieve. His music creates an optimistic mood that easily stays with the listener: from each verse to the chorus, “Silk Dress” is a catchy rock song that invites us to keep dreaming.
