Got up late today as I’m trying to avoid facing those things that have caused so much stress lately. And I woke up to a gritty single written by another person who’s staying in bed today. This person is an artist called Dionne Sturdy-Clow, and this is her newest single – “No Way“! OUT NOW!!!
Hailing from Doncaster, Dionne is a 20-year-old singer-songwriter with a heart full of love for anything folk, pop and rock. Inspired by favourite musicians and keen on telling stories, Dionne Sturdy-Clow’s music is an indie pop-rock affair looking into life of an emotion-fueled human being. Touching themes ranging from love and heartbreak all the way to various ways one might try to cope with the load of feelings, as well as empowering and uplifting messages, Dionne wraps them all into catchy and powerful songs. Her recent single was in fact an uplifting one called “I Could Be Somebody“, but the new single “No Way” is a different story.
Taking us into the morning following a really rough night, “No Way” is an anthem of a ruffled-up person down with a hangover and the lingering presence of hurtful things that were said last night. Swaying through the shattered feeling in the heart and that wrecking stressed headache, the single feels exactly like a person going “I’m so done with everything” and staying in, taking a trip to the fridge as an achievement. Slightly reminiscent of P!nk gone fully indie, “No Way” is a delightfully told story that no doubt hits home for many people out there!
“No Way” is out now so press that play button.
