New single “Priceless” by Proklaim

Greetings LT1KF family and Happy New Year. It’s been roughly 3 months since #LT1KF last checked in with Namibia-based artist Proklaim, covering his single “Options,” released on October 19th. As of December 14th, the rapper has returned to “carpe diem” with his latest single, “Priceless.”

The latest effort is a venture into a Neo-Trap vibe, but still, chill and laid-back with the hook. Lyrically, it is a projection of his aspirations and dreams, a proclamation if you will, pun totally intended. As per usual, you are going to want to sit back with some nice headphones or speakers (JBLs have never done me wrong) to get the full experience and let that beat knock.

Proklaim began rapping after college. He actually started as a guitar player, crafting his raps while playing guitar before he emersed himself into to the digital realm of production making beats. As we’ve touched on before, his primary influences are in the vein of 2pac, Biggie, Jay-Z, Big Pun, Nas, and Lauryn Hill. Despite this latest release being a more modern direction musically with Trap sensibilities, the personal ethos behind his work is to “speak from your soul” without worry about trends. That being said, his rapping stylistically is a good recommendation for fans of those artists, in particular, Nas as he has an outwardly spiritual and philosophical approach to writing lyrics. Dogmatic about the transcendency of music, Proklaim remarks:

Music can catapult one to the eternal

As with his previous releases, this single was produced in part and distributed by PenPushaz Entertainment. Mixed by Lu Diaz and Mastered by Chris Athens. Do yourself a solid and ring in the new year with a “vibey” proclamation!
