Vargen, the Swedish singer-songwriter, has recently dropped his newest single “Easter Soul“. This release in an EP format includes three previous tracks released and we’ll talk about “Toxicon”, a song that is full of enticing youthful energy and glitter of glamor. Here we become the witness of the Toxic Icon singing his signature song and sweeping the audience with unforeseen intoxicating passion. We see strong posture, captivating moves, and awesome well-chosen costumes… but “Toxicon” holds more than what meets the eye.

Soft and undoubtedly sexy vocals usher forth an atmosphere of glamour and flaming passion unlike anything else. The catwalk sees the strong presence of the Toxicon, a brightly burning star. Vargen has woven a swinging melodious soft-rock sound to surround the scene and follow the toxic queen at the highest point of the iconic star career. “Toxicon” lets you feel what it’s like to be that toxic celebrity star strutting on the narrow catwalk stage always one step away from a bad fall. The song also allows a glimpse underneath the glitter and glam, where lies the desire to remain as strong and shiny despite the knowledge that all stars burn on a definite amount of fuel.
The potent and spiritful “Toxicon” stands as a great example of Vargen’s playful yet thought-provoking songwriting skills. The alias, translated as “the Wolf”, is run by Reine Johansson, an artist with a colorful past of working at, and directing a circus. The man still keeps it busy with a new full-length release soon to be released to the world, so keep your eyes peeled!
