Abby London’s cover version of the song was released on September 11th and carries within its beautiful somber notes a story of a brave young woman named Emily, who is sadly no longer with us. This is a tribute to the life and eternal love of Emily presented in the form of a gentle piano ballad.

The heart-stirring story of Emily comes from one of Abby London’s dedicated fans Forrest, who by chance connected with Abby and told her about his sister and how she passed away. What she heard was a story of love and pure selflessness. Emily was caught in a raging fire which prompted her to evacuate, but realizing her beloved dog Benji was still in the fire, she returned into the flames to rescue her dog. Unfortunately, things went wrong and she died during the rescue, leaving behind a bittersweet legacy of heroism fueled by true love.
Abby London, moved by Emily’s story, was inspired to create a tribute to her memory and chose one of the most beautiful love songs out there, Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love” to honor Emily’s memory. Abby’s emotional and gentle vocals capture the grief, awe, and love for the woman and her act of selfless love, and the story is surrounded by cherishing, calm, and soul-stirring piano arrangement created by Abby herself. The song was embraced by Emily’s family and played at her funeral.
Abby’s tribute song, in addition to framing up Emily’s legacy, also embodies the power of music connecting and uniting people and offering comfort and solace at times of heartbreak. The song also has a video, which features images of Emily and the dear dog Benji, completing the emotional eulogy with memories that will always be around.
