DISCOVERED VIA MUSOSOUP

1.- Lille, France‘s own Fat Bottomed Boys released an album titled, “Haters Gonna Hate.” as the name of the band implies, if you’re a fan of Queen – you do not want to miss out on this release!

Founding members Elash and The Sgt. formed Fat Bottomed Boys in 2020 to continue and honor the legacy of the iconic rock band by way of original music after years of playing together in an actual Queen tribute band. Fat Bottomed Boys’ inspiring sound blends classic stadium rock and pop rock in a way that invokes familiarity, yet takes on a whole new life of it’s own at another level. You can keep reading our review here.

2.- Neil C. Young, the compelling UK jazz guitarist hailing from Manchester, has released a dazzling EP, “ReWorks Vol. 1,” showcasing the technical and musical prowess of the Neil C. Young Trio. This instrumental light-hearted gem delves into the realms of instrumental guitar, fusion jazz, and funk fusion, delivering a joyride. You can keep reading our review here.

3.- Fast. Furious. Aggro. Ready and willing to call out your bullshit. I’ve just been audibly assaulted by the latest band to be featured in DCxPC‘s Live/Dead vinyl series: Antagonizör. And I couldn’t be more delighted. Thank you ma’am I’ll take another, please! Indeed this is the fourth release in a vinyl series that the hardcore/punk rock label introduced and that I became familiarized with back in July. You can keep reading our review here.

4.- Red Mountain Revolt‘s latest offering, “Like a Loaded Gun,” is a blistering fusion of grunge, hard rock, and heavy alternative rock influences that ignite a raw, unadulterated sound reminiscent of ’90s icons. Clocking in at 54 minutes across 12 tracks, this album showcases the exceptional musical prowess of the duo behind the band: Kyle Merritts and Christian Nevi. You can keep reading our review here.

5.- RedPrint “The Plan” in their own words: “We used to be a cover band for about 10 years. Some members left and got replaced. All current members have been together since 2019. COVID made us bored, and now this happened. Last year our rhythm guitarist and synthesizer player (same guy) left and this, the current band was formed. The synthesizer was replaced by the violin.

6.- Back in 2018 the Berlin-based producer and composer Maxi Menot handpicked two of her favorite songwriters for what she thought would be a film music project. German/Egyptian Shary Osman and Danish Line Bøgh later proved to have a lot more in common than film music, and the three women formed “The Remaining Part”, an indie pop band with Nordic and middle eastern influences.

Their third album, a collection of 10 songs, was conceived during the pandemic, an era that transformed their approach to songwriting. The result is a captivating fusion of minimalist pop, cinematic ballads, and warm, folky sounds.

7.- Anew ColourEmpathy is the new collaboration from musicians LuAmi and Adam Staff. Co-written and co-produced during lockdown 2020, the 8-track album is the duo’s response to a world that seems to be losing its capacity for empathy.

8.- Alice Gift (ex-Velvet Condom) is finally back with a new record. ‘Nothing Against Uplifting, But …‘ is released on the Parisian label ‘Icy Cold’ and offers exciting rarities from the French Berliner. In keeping with the new electronic sounds heard on it, he delivers a toxic mix of indie, dark wave, and synth-pop along with his accomplice Djamila Paris.

9.- Explore the dynamic world of Vancouver’s 29East with their debut EP, “29E.” From the moody indie fusion of “Only” to the genre-bending “Close Your Eyes” with its catchy, surf-rock vibes, and the soulful pop-funk of “So Broke,” each track is a chapter in 29East’s sonic narrative. This EP is not merely a collection of songs; it’s a concise journey through the band’s versatility, featuring expressive vocals, daring lyrics, and polished genre-blending.

Last but not least check out the debut EP “UTOPIA” by Shola.
